Infinite 8-bit Platformer is a persistent 2D multiplayer platformer universe where you can create your own levels and items, chat, explore levels, and collect items made by other people. It's a bit like a cross between a multiplayer platformer and a wiki.

It has been under development since January 2009, and is now in private beta. See the blog and commitlog for progress updates. Subscribe to the commit log at twitter, or identi.ca to stay up to date with source code changes. There is also a mailing list for discussion about the game.

Infinite 8-bit Platformer is Free Software and is licensed under the terms of the GPLv3, with some libraries licensed under the LGPLv3.
